Happy New Year

What a year 2010 was!! It was a good year for me, how about you?

Cheers to 2011 and to a thriving, prosperous New Year!

My card is simple this week, comfy and a bit worn looking 🙂 in a good way of course! I used 2 super cute images from the latest red rubber goodness of the Unity Kit of the Month (December) and one of the newest singles from Ippity called Gurnsey Gingham.

I loved this week’s Play Date Cafe Challenge color combo too, so I included that in the creation of my card!

Hey, this is the last Hippity Hop for 2010!! Thanks for coming by to see it!!

I’ve got a tall card for you today! I missed this CPS sketch when it came out, so I took this opportunity to use it this week! Also, the Play Date Cafe had a great color combo that I really wanted to try out. 🙂

I made my own background paper then distressed the edges with a neutral beige ink. I then went back over the pattern and colored in the centers on the background paper using the dye ink pad and a water brush. Basically, take the water brush and touch it to the ink pad. Ink will transfer to the moist brush which then can be used to paint whatever you want to on the stamped design.

I also spritzed the large flower with a Pearlized Mist that I created myself. See my custom recipes at this post. Click the picture for a larger version.

Oh my gosh, how special to have a hop on Christmas Eve!!

You’re going to laugh, but I didn’t do a Christmas or Winter themed card. I did a birthday one instead!

I had fun with watercolors on this one. Actually with Watercolor Crayons – ever use those? Lots of wonderful color blending so well on watercolor paper! I used a super cute image from the October 2008 KOTM (the flowers in the center) which just happens to be on sale right now!! I included some Ippity stamps on the card too, can you find them? They are in the flower 1/2 circle and the saying in the oval! Both are from the IPK-143 How You Doin’? set – love it! And it matches so well to the October 2008 KOTM!

To add to the charm, I used one of my own recipes of Pearlized Mists using a Distress Reinker, Perfect Pearls and water. It’s such a great sparkle without overpowering the colored image.

Hope you like it!

Hello Ippity fans! It’s been a little while since I’ve hopped – too much work and too little play. 🙂

The Holidays are upon us and I’m thinking of people that I won’t be with this year. A little nostalgic I suppose! So, I made this card to send in lieu of us seeing each other. The Regal Greetings set is one of my favorites, it never fails to shine no matter how you use the stamps!

I heat embossed the fleur-de-lis with glittery embossing powder – it sure does twinkle in the sunlight! I am using this week’s Play Date Cafe’s color challenge of black, white and yellow. What a great combo!

May your Holidays be full of fun, cheer and love!
